The Symbian Foundation has announced to Open Source the popular Symbian Mobile Platform. Any individual or organization can now take, use and modify the code for any purpose, whether that be for a mobile device or for something else entirely

The Symbian Mobile Platform Code is now free to everyone to let them to contribute openly to the future of mobile.

The complete Symbian platform is now available for download and use under open-source license.

Symbian is widely-used smartphone platform. The Symbian platform, which has been developed over more than 10 years and has shipped in more than 330 million devices around the world, is now completely open source and source code is available for free.
