There’s really no reason why you should convert your .flv movies downloaded from the Internet into other formats if all you want is to play them on your Mac.

‘SWF & FLV Player as self-explanatory as the name is, is a Mac FLV and SWF player, and this 9Mb application comes free with no charges at all. It is perhaps one of the best FLV players I’ve come across so far.

Using jQuery and a plugin to help with animating background /examples/images, we are able to make a sliding “Garage Door” style menu. The menu code is purely semantic. The UL provides the “background”, the list items provide the “shutters” and the links themselves are the “windows”.

Instead of creating images or using flash just to show your site’s graphic text in the font you want, you can use typeface.js and write in plain HTML and CSS, just as if your visitors had the font installed locally.

As the fonts that can be used in websites are limited, there are several solutions to this problem like sIFR or FLIR. typeface.js is another open source solution which uses JavaScript.
