Calling all WordPress Themers! Do you ever wish that you could easily preview your wordpress themes while working in Dreamweaver? Well wish no more! The other day i came across an awesome Dreamweaver Extension called ThemeDreamer.
This amazing extension enables you to unlock Dreamweavers potential and turns Adobes’ Dreamweaver into a faster design environment for wordpress themes. ThemeDreamer provides a WYSIWYG feedback within Dreamweaver’s design view editor in real time. This means you do not need to deal with a server to view your CSS and template changes! Alterations are immediately reflected in Dreamweavers Design View.
Well before you have a complete design orgasm take a quick look at some of its features as stated by the website:
Real Time Design View
- Enables instantaneous WYSIWYG feedback on common CSS and WordPress Template Tags.
- Automatically combines theme file dependencies, eliminating the need to combine and splice header.php, index.php, footer.php, search.php, sidebar.php, etc.
- Supports both function-style and query-string-style Template Tag parameters.
Code View Hints
- Provides WordPress Template Tags, Include Tags, and Conditional Tags at your finger tips.
- Hints reveal syntax, parameter defaults, and common enumerated optional values.
Graphic Designer and Application Developer Benefits
- Offline theme development - There is no need for a server connection or a need to install WordPress locally to view most common style edits.
- Accelerate theme development time by reducing hassels with server round trips (’download-edit-upload-view’).
1- CSS font shorthand rule
When styling fonts with CSS you may be doing this:
There’s no need though as you can use this CSS shorthand property:
Much better! Just a couple of words of warning: This CSS shorthand version will only work if you’re specifying both the
font-size and the
font-family. Also, if you don’t specify the
font-varient then these values will automatically default to a value of
normal, so do bear this in mind too.
2- Two classes together
Usually attributes are assigned just one class, but this doesn’t mean that that’s all you’re allowed. In reality, you can assign as many classes as you like! For example:
<p class=”Class1 Class2″>…</p>
Using these two classes together (separated by a space, not with a comma) means that the paragraph calls up the rules assigned to both Class1 and Class2. If any rules overlap between the two classes then the class which is below the other in the CSS document will take precedence.
